What do you most love to tell prospective students about Augustana?

I love answering students' questions and helping them see everything Augustana has to offer. Every student has a unique story, and one of my favorite parts of this job is helping them discover how Augustana can become part of that story. I also love sharing my own experience because Augustana gave me so much, and it's exciting to give back by helping others find their place here.

Why did you decide to work in this field and/or at Augustana?

I spent three years as a student ambassador tour guide, and I absolutely loved it. I've always enjoyed connecting with people, hearing their stories, and helping them see what's possible. Admissions allows me to help students craft the next chapter of their story while finding the college that's the best fit for them. Getting to do that at the place that shaped my own story makes it even more meaningful.

What's great about the Quad Cities?

Coming from a small town, I was amazed by everything the Quad Cities has to offer. I love exploring the local arts scene, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and discovering hidden gems around the area. Whether it's browsing a farmers market, catching a River Bandits game, visiting the Figge, or just spending time outdoors, there's always something happening.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love exploring local restaurants and shops with friends, working out, listening to music, and watching a good show. You can also usually find me doing anything music or theatre related—I love being around the arts whenever I can!

What advice do you have for students who are searching for the right college?

Take a deep breath and trust the process. Think about what you want your college experience to look like, then look for a place that not only checks your boxes but also feels like home. I remember walking around Augustana as a high school senior and thinking, "I can really picture myself here." I encourage every student to find a place that gives them that same feeling.
