Lesley Zwicky

Professional Faculty and Instructor of Communication Sciences and Disorders

Lesley Zwicky is an Augustana alum ('16) with family ties to the college dating back to the early 1900s. She now joins the college as a Clinical Supervisor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department. Prior to this position, Zwicky worked as a Speech Language Pathologist for a special education cooperative in Peoria, Ill., for the past seven years serving several districts within the cooperative along with a wide variety of students ranging from medically fragile to speech only students, with ages ranging from early childhood to high school. In that time, she also furthered her knowledge about school-based special education leadership by completing a Masters in Educational Leadership from Aurora University. In her spare time, Zwicky's interests include cooking, gardening, reading, DIYs, and spending time with her family and friends.

Michelle King ’93

Assistant Director of Individual Giving and Estate Planning

Michelle King serves as Assistant Director of Individual Giving & Estate Gift Planning at Augustana College. Michelle is privileged to build relationships with donors and help them achieve their philanthropic goals, while also meeting the strategic fundraising ambitions of Augustana College. She designs, supports, and implements programs to increase engagement with students, alumni, and friends of Augustana College.

She is a retired federal executive with 32-years of service with the Social Security Administration (SSA). She was a member of the Senior Executive Service for 18 years and held various executive leadership roles including Acting Commissioner, Chief Financial Officer - Deputy Commissioner for Budget, Finance, & Management, Performance Improvement Officer, and Deputy Commissioner for Operations.

Michelle has extensive postgraduate education and training in various areas of executive leadership and organizational development; federal budgeting, finance, and appropriations; team building; strategic partnerships; and public policy.

Michelle lives in Moline, Illinois, with her husband, George, their three Golden Retrievers — Sparky, Sophie Rose, and Bumble — and a cat named Smokey. She’s thrilled to be back in the Midwest and is enjoying reconnecting with alumni, getting involved on campus, and engaging with the local community.

Coordinator of Accessibility Services

Rachael is the Coordinator of Disability & Access Resources, overseeing all academic and campus activity accommodations. She has been involved in disability advocacy since adolescence and is passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment to ensure students have an equitable college experience.

Rachael earned a B.A. in American Sign Language-English Interpretation from William Woods University and a M.S. in Disability Services in Higher Education from CUNY School of Professional Studies.

In her personal life, she enjoys going to theater productions or museums and sewing historical clothing.
