Lorraine Stamberger '15 has received the Glenda Laws Undergraduate Paper Award from the Association of American Geographers for the best paper on an urban geographic topic by an undergraduate student. Stamberger is majoring in geography and environmental studies. Her research and paper assessed riverfront accessibility in the Quad Cities.

Millions in upgrades ready for students this fall
More than 700 new students set to arrive on campus this week, Augustana College is wrapping up a $7-million investment in summer construction. Among the improvements to campus is a $5-million remodel of one wing of Westerlin Residence Center, the college’s largest residence hall, housing more than 450 students.

Students awarded fellowships for summer research
This summer, seven Augustana College students are participating in full-scale scientific research projects under the guidance of faculty advisors. Each project is funded through an Augustana Summer Student Research Fellowship-up to $3,000, plus additional funding for project expenses.
College partners with River Bandits to fund scholarship
Augustana College has joined the Quad Cities River Bandits' Bandit Scholars Program, which will be open annually to Quad Cities-area students entering Augustana College. The River Bandits are Class A minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros.
