During Augustana's Symposium Day on Oct. 8, trained students from Augustana's kinesiology program will conduct BodPod (body composition) tests and VO2 Max (cardiovasculary fitness) tests. Registration is required.

A team of scientists announced they officially found gravitational waves — but, why exactly is that a big deal? “This is like finding a needle in a haystack, except probably on a bigger scale,” said Dr. Cecilia Vogel, professor of physics at Augustana. “Let’s say there’s a conversation going on three miles away and you can suddenly hear it with your ears. The event of the black holes colliding from so far away is really hard to detect, so it’s really impressive."

Red Cross Club
The Red Cross Club at Augustana College is a student-led organization dedicated to promoting community service, emergency preparedness, and humanitarian values on campus and in the Quad Cities. Members participate in volunteer events, organize blood drives, support local disaster-relief efforts, and educate the campus community about health and safety. The club offers meaningful opportunities for leadership, service, and collaboration while helping students make a positive impact through the mission of the American Red Cross.
Triathlon Club
The Triathlon Club exists to bring together Augustana students who have a passion for swimming, biking, and running. We welcome first-time triathletes to those who compete at region, national, and world championship races. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned veteran, we hope you’ll join us!
Unabridged Book Club
The Unabridged Book Club brings together Augustana students who share a love of reading, conversation, and community. Each term, members choose a book to explore and meet regularly for thoughtful discussion, reflection, and connection. Open to readers of all backgrounds and majors, the club offers a welcoming space to discover new authors, engage with diverse perspectives, and build friendships through a shared passion for stories.
