Augustana brings the drama in 2026-27 theatre season

Who’s ready for a little drama? Augustana’s 2026-27 theatre season has plenty of it, along with soccer, Shakespeare, Victorian-era intrigue and a musical mystery that lets the audience decide the ending. The season opens Oct. 29 with A.R. Gurney’s “The Dining Room,” directed by Christian Haywood ’27.

Biskie and Armas

Friends share a passion for physics, and now a $5,000 scholarship

For Tara Armas ’27 and Emma Biskie ’27, studying physics at Augustana College has meant much more than mastering equations and theories. It has led to research opportunities in places far and near, connections with scientists and, along the way, a close friendship. Plus — a prestigious $5,000 scholarship!

Geology students out in the field

Fieldwork gives Augustana students a ‘foot in the door’

During the academic year, 14 Augustana students led by geology professor Dr. Jeffrey Strasser will help create a map of a landscape no one can see. Through a collaboration with the Illinois State Geological Survey (ISGS), students are conducting professional research as they use seismometers, collect and interpret field data, and help map the buried Princeton Bedrock Valley.

Frieze Lecture: 'Deism and its Influence on America's Founders'

Dr. Eric Stewart, professor and chair of religion, will present "Deism and its Influence on America's Founders."

This year’s Frieze Lectures will consider the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence through four very different lenses.

'The Dining Room'

A.R. Gurney’s "The Dining Room" follows a collection of interrelated stories of American families spanning eight decades, taking place in different dining rooms. Some stories are funny, some touching, and some rueful.
