Art above 66° 33': Oona Stern and Cheryl Leonard
Oona Stern and Cheryl Leonard will perform as part of the Art above 66° 33' exhibition.
Leonard is a composer, performer and instrument-builder who uses the sounds made by natural objects for her "Polar Soundscapes." Several of her pieces include video by Stern, art director, designer, and visual artist.
The exhibition will be open in the Teaching Museum of Art for a preview at 6 p.m. The performance will be held in Wallenberg Hall in the Denkmann Building at 7 p.m.
Art above 66° 33' considers the issues, history and environment of the polar areas, spanning media, process and subject; from the figural to the abstract, tactile to sound, analog to digital.
