Charlottesville: open forum

In mid-August, an attack in Charlottesville injured 19 people and left a person dead. This was a result of a clash between protesting far-right white supremacists and counter-protesters.

This Open Forum discussion will consider:

1. What implications the event has in terms of white supremacy and how it affects the country as a whole?
2. What are people’s general perceptions about this event and how can we expand our perspectives on such issues?
3. How would Augustana respond if we were to encounter such an incident on campus?

Professors from the sociology and women and gender studies, as well as staff members from the Office of Multicultural Student Life, will joining the discussion.
