Erikson Lecture: Mythbusting Russia's Reasons for Election Meddling

Dr. Heather Tafel, associate professor of political science at Grand Valley State University, will present the 2018 Stanley Erikson Lecture in Public Affairs, "Mythbusting Russia's Reasons for Election Meddling."

She will discuss common assumptions about U.S.-Russian relations and how those assumptions often do not reveal the reasons behind the Russian government’s attempts to influence the 2016 election. She also will touch on what she think are the reasons for Russia’s involvement, with a view to providing prescriptions as to what can be done going forward.

This event is sponsored by Augustana's department of political science and made possible through the Stanley Erikson Lectureship Fund.
