John Hauberg: A Photo History

Augustana librarian Emma Lincoln will share historic photos from John Hauberg's collection at Augustana College. All are welcome.

Hauberg, and his wife Susanne Denkman, were Rock Island philanthropists. John Hauberg was as a recorder of the oral histories and a photographer. Many of his photos are in Tredway Library Special Collections at Augustana, available through the Upper Mississippi Valley Digital Image Archive.

On Sunday, the public is invited to celebrate the 150th birthday of John Hauberg with cake and ice cream while learning about Hauberg from family members and special guest speakers Mark Schwiebert and Susanne Kayyali.
