The Most Consequential Election of Our Time?

Dr. Dag Blanck, director of the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center at Augustana, will moderate a trans-Atlantic panel discussion on the U.S. election: "The Most Consequential Election of Our Time?"

It will be in English and will last about two hours.

Participants will include:

Lance Bennett, professor of communication and political science and founding director of the Center for Communication and Civic Engagement, University of Washington, Seattle; and doctor honoris causa, Uppsala University.

Karin Henriksson, Washington, D.C., a long-time correspondent for Svenska Dagbladet in Washington, author of numerous books on American politics and history, member of the editorial team for the blog and podcast Amerikaanalys.

William Haltom, professor of political science, University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, holder of the 2020-21 Distinguished Fulbright Chair in American Studies at Uppsala University.

Frida Stranne, senior lecturer in political science, Halmstad University College, affiliated researcher at SINAS, member of the editorial team for the blog and podcast Amerikaanalys.

Dr. Blanck researches American history with an emphasis on immigration and minorities and is also interested in Swedish-American relations, especially politics. He is a frequent commentator on Swedish television and radio. He is a professor of North American Studies at the Swedish Institute for North American Studies, Uppsala University.
