Mississippi Bend Players: No Child
The Mississippi Bend Players will present the award-winning one-person play "No Child," about a teacher who uses theatre to connect with students.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. July 8-10, and at 2 p.m. July 11.
"No Child" by Nilaja Sun tells the story of Miss Sun, a visiting teacher in the New York City public schools. The based is based on the playwright’s experiences, and is a tour-de-force as the actor plays 16 characters in rapid succession, including Miss Sun, her students, other teachers and administrators, and even the school’s 80-year-old janitor. It is an insightful, hilarious and touching master class, not to be missed by anyone concerned about the state of the education.
