African Week events Oct. 18-23

The African Student Association (ASA) will celebrate African Week with a series of events:

Sunday, Oct. 18, 2 p.m., ASA group photo shoot, lower Quad

Come wearing your ASA sweatshirt and African face mask (African fabrics face mask will be given at the photo shoot but make sure to wear your own face mask when coming) to take a picture with us. We will have music to keep the energy up and have fun while taking pictures.

Monday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m., "Untangling the Myth: This Too is Africa," Brew by the Slough

Posters will be on the windows. Stop by the Brew and learn awesome, positive, and non-stereotypical facts about Africa.

Tuesday, Oct. 20, African Attire Day

Wear any African attire and take a picture/video of yourself and send it to ASA to post on our ASA Instagram page. Send your picture to our ASA email: You can add your social media handles to the email if you want to be tagged in the pictures.

Friday, Oct. 23, 4 p.m., Afro Sway, lower Quad

Get on your dancing shoes and come join ASA for an afternoon of dance and fun activities. Gävle rooms in case of bad weather.

Friday, Oct. 23, 8-10 p.m., Movie Night, Olin Auditorium

Come hang out and chill with ASA and the Black Student Union as we have a night of laughs and watch a movie. RSVP.

If you have news, send it to! We love hearing about the achievements of our alumni, students and faculty.
