Augustana College will host author, former state senate candidate and Army veteran Bill Albracht for a book signing in Wallenberg Hall (3520 7th Ave., Rock Island) on Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m.

A Rock Island native and graduate of Augustana, William "Bill" Albracht is the recipient of three silver stars, three purple hearts and five bronze stars. Albracht will sign his new book, Abandoned In Hell, which chronicles his experiences behind enemy lines while in Vietnam in 1969.

"Bill Albracht has experienced exciting events throughout his life, from serving the country during the Vietnam War, to spending his college years at Augustana, to serving in the U.S. Secret Service," said Jenna Jensen '16, who works in the Office of Student Life (OSL) at Augustana. "OSL is so excited to have Bill share his life's stories with us".

In addition to the book signing, Albracht will speak about his experiences at Augustana College and his time in the Secret Service.

Abandoned In Hell will be available for purchase before and after the event.
