My Augustana Story: Ryan Jenkins

In the first of an on-going series, "My Augustana Story" we feature senior Ryan Jenkins.

Jenkins '18 is majoring in multimedia journalism and mass communication.

Ryan said, "With the MJMC major you get a lot of one-on-one attention. At the end of the day, that's what makes such a difference.  When you're working with a faculty member who cares about you, who listens to you, who you feel really understands what you want to become. That's a really unique experience that I wouldn't trade anything in the world for."

In the fall of 2017, Ryan used his Augie Choice funds to intern with CBS News in New York City.

"That was an opportunity that I'm not sure I would have been able to pursue or afford without Augustana's help."

While finishing up his degree, Ryan is working full time for WQAD-TV (ABC) in Moline, Ill.
