Post-inauguration Street Party to close 7th Ave.

To celebrate the inauguration of Augustana President Andrea Talentino, 7th Avenue will be closed from Centennial Hall to the Lindberg Center for a post-ceremony Street Party on Oct. 15.

The campus community and the public are invited to the party immediately after the inauguration ceremony. Festivities will take place from 2-4 p.m.

• Enjoy a Friends of Music Jazz Concert on the lawn near Bergendoff Hall of Fine Arts.

• Other activities will include a bounce house, balloon animals, crafts, caricatures, face painting, yard games and a photo booth.

• Tacos, hot dogs, pizza, caramel apples, popcorn and Kona Ice will be available at the street party. Most items will cost $1 (cash only).

All dollars will be donated to the Rock Island High School Resource Room, as selected by President Talentino. The Resource Room provides clothing, hygiene products and food for students from economically vulnerable households.

In the event of rain, the inauguration ceremony will move to Centennial Hall, and the street party will take place at the Carver P.E. Center.
