Reading/Writing Center seeks peer tutors
The Reading/Writing Center is accepting applications from first-year students and sophomores interested in becoming reading/writing tutors.
The 10 students selected must take a 2-credit prerequisite class (ENGL 201) this spring and a co-requisite class (ENGL 202) this fall; they will then begin work at the start of fall semester.
For more information or to apply, see the listing on Handshake and the online application linked there.
All application materials, including two recommendations, must be submitted no later than Friday, Jan. 14.
Peer tutors consult with students on their reading and writing on a walk-in or regular basis. They also serve as writing fellows for First-Year Inquiry and other classes, give class presentations and/or lead out-of-class workshops, and take responsibility for paraprofessional activities in the center.
The RWC seeks excellent writers and communicators who relate well to peers and enjoy helping others improve their writing and reading. Preference is given to first-years, though sophomores are considered as well.
