'The Skin of Our Teeth' takes the stage May 7-10
Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning play “The Skin of Our Teeth” will conclude the Augustana theatre season, taking the stage May 7-10
Performances at the Brunner Theatre Center will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $10-15, and more information and tickets are available by calling (309) 794-7306 and online.
“The Skin of our Teeth” broke from established theatrical conventions, combining farce, burlesque and satire, and elements of the comic strip, according to the Wilder family’s description. Thornton Wilder depicts an Everyman Family as it narrowly escapes one end-of-the-world disaster after another, from the Ice Age to flood to war.
The lead roles of Mr. and Mrs. Antrobus will be played by Noah Johnson and Sora Richter, with a supporting cast of Maya Haynes, Elijah Morton, Ludovica Chiovini and Kallik Ewen. Other cast members include J Roberts, Ruby Tolnai, Jack Pawlak, Lex Mikulski, Addon Rogers, Leo Kopplin, Lexi Horn, Adele Bartlein, Basil Alexander and Alex Wohlers.
Jeff Coussens, Augustana professor of theatre arts, directs the play. Linnea Strack serves as the production's stage manager and Max De Buys its assistant director.
The creative team also includes assistant stage manager Pheonix Martin; scenic/lighting/sound designer and technical director Mike Turczynski; costume designer Becki Arnold; assistant costume designer and wardrobe head Arler Ohlmiller; projection designer, film aspect manager, and deck hand Rylon Hall; props master Will McIver; assistant/associate technical director Ben Adams; light-board operator Rhiana Winston; assistant/associate lighting designer Alyssa Ogrodny; and deck hand Adrien Lutes.
