Students recognized for achievements
Congratulations to the following students, who received recognition for their work in the 2022-2023 academic year from off-campus organizations.
Iratze Aceves, a sophomore majoring in psychology and classical studies and minoring in French, won the Rudolph Masciantonio Diversity Award from the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS).
Allie Anderson, a junior majoring in classics and political science and minoring in sociology and anthropology, received the CAMWS Manson A. Stewart Undergraduate Award.
Alison Lawrence, a senior majoring in women, gender, and sexuality studies and pre-medicine, received the first-place award for a three-minute Quick Pitch speech for the Humanities/Social Science Division at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research on April 14.
Jessica Mangers, a senior majoring in psychology, received the 2023 Academic Achievement Award from the Rock Island Rotary.
Alex Mortenson, a senior majoring in biochemistry, pre-medicine and chemistry, received the 2023 Academic Achievement Award from the Rock Island Rotary.
Laurence Pavlik, a junior majoring in classics and geology, received the CAMWS Manson A. Stewart Undergraduate Award, the 2023 Etruscan Foundation Fieldwork Fellowship and the Eta Sigma Phi H. R. Butts Scholarship for Fieldwork in Classical Archaeology.
