Swedish genealogists to offer services
The Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center at Augustana College will welcome the return of the renowned SwedGenTour on Saturday, Sept. 30. These professional genealogists from Sweden will give lectures on Swedish genealogy, searching records, inventories and more.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 102 of the Hanson Hall of Science, 726 35th St., Rock Island. The cost for the day is $35 through Aug. 31 and $45 after that. Pre-registration is required.
Register online or mail a check (payable to "Swenson Center") to Swenson Center, Augustana College, 639 38th St, Rock Island Ill., 61201-2296. There is an early bird price of $35 per person if postmarked on or before August 31. The cost is $45 if postmarked Sept. 1 or after.
Lunch: there will be a midday lunch break. Participants are welcome to dine in the Gerber Center on campus or bring a lunch. Lunch is not included. An all-you-care-to-eat lunch at the dining hall in the Gerber Center costs $10.03 including tax. Exact change in cash will help the cashiers to serve you more quickly!
Parking: See this campus map and look for Hanson Hall of Science. Faculty/staff parking lot "H" on the hillside northwest of Hanson Hall of Science (highlighted in red) is available to the public that day. The streets highlighted in blue offer public on-street parking.
