Vikings Vote campaign Sept. 21-Oct. 2
The Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity will run the Vikings Vote campaign Sept. 21-Oct. 2.
The purpose of this campaign is to educate, register, vote and empower the campus community. Campaigners will register students to vote in the Nov. 3 general election.
They also will help students to get out and vote or help them with the absentee or vote by mail process.
Vikings Vote events
• Voter education and registration: 1-4 p.m. Sept. 23 outside of the Office of Student Life (Gerber 436)
• Your Voice is Your Power panel: 5 p.m. Sept. 29, Hanson 102
• First Friday: Use Your Voice: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 2, Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity (Gerber 420)
Students attending college have the option to register in their hometown or in their college town. But by law, you can only register to vote in one location.
To register in your hometown: Contact your hometown county clerk's Office.
To register in Rock Island on campus: Stop by the Voter Registration Drive on September 23 from 2-4 p.m., to complete a voter registration card. Bring your student ID and a piece of mail with your residence hall or house address.
