Why Maggie Tracy '28 applied early

When she was in 7th grade, Tracy visited Augustana with her father — an experience that stuck with her through high school

Maggie Tracy '28 from Champaign, Ill., knew Augustana College was the right choice for her as soon as she visited campus.

"I've been wanting to go here since I was in 7th grade," she said. And when her high school advisors suggested applying Early Decision, it just made sense.

Though the idea of committing early can be scary, Tracy said the moment she stepped foot on campus, she knew.

"I know this sounds cheesy, but as soon as I visited, I felt really welcomed. Everyone here is so nice. I’ve already made so many friends and I'm never afraid to ask for help."

For Tracy, Augustana quickly became a second home—one where she feels supported and valued by the community.

"I've sent so many emails, and they're always so helpful," she laughed. "There's always someone available and I always get what I need."

That personalized attention, combined with the close-knit community, is exactly why Maggie is so happy with her Early Decision choice at Augustana.

Her advice to anyone considering Augustana? "Just visit!"
