The Search for a Vice President and Dean of Student Life

Augustana College welcomes applications and nominations for the position of Vice President and Dean of Student Life, to begin service in August 2018. For full consideration for this position, submit application by May 10, 2018.

Augustana awards the bachelor of arts in about 90 majors and related academic programs. The college has had a Phi Beta Kappa chapter since 1950, and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. President Steven C. Bahls is Augustana’s eighth president. 

The college’s Augustana 2020 strategic plan includes four strategic directions: 1) Enhanced Preparation; 2) Integrated Experiences; 3) Affordability and Value; and 4) Diversity and Inclusion. The second of these—Integrated Experiences—reaffirms the college’s focus as a residential liberal arts college that provides an education intentionally designed to strengthen connections between student learning and student life.

Therefore, the successful candidate for the position of Vice President and Dean and Student Life will be a collaborative, energetic leader with significant and proven experience in the field of student life, who is passionate about continually pursuing the highest standards for student growth and success.
