Why Augustana?
I heard great things academically about Augustana. I came here, and everything surpassed my expectations. The professors and students are amazing. The friends I’ve met here are going to be my best friends in the future.
Are you where you thought you'd be when you first came to campus?
I’m way further that I would have ever imagined when I first came to Augustana. This place has changed my life for the better in many ways.
Who helped you get to where you are now?
The friends I’ve made here have pushed me every day to be the best version of myself. Professors have helped me through every class, and I’m very grateful.
Peak experience?
All the years I’ve spent here at Augustana have been a peak experience. But if I had to choose one, it would be the times in the lobby of Erickson studying and doing a lot of procrastination.
What surprised you?
Honestly, a lot of things surprised me, but I would say the great relationships between students and how people you surround yourself with can impact your life.
What will you miss the most?
I will miss the everyday life here at Augie. There are always things to do and people to hang out with. I will miss the tennis practices and being with my teammates enjoying competition.
Advice for the Class of 2030?
Enjoy this time here as much as possible. Meet new people, involve yourself in different groups, use all the resources that Augustana gives you and be yourself.
"Tomas brought a wealth of international experience for the benefit of the whole class. He shared his knowledge consistently, confidently and patiently. His viewpoints always helped the discussion move to a higher level. His humble demeanor and curiosity made the class lively. I am certain that he will shine wherever his path takes him. Hopefully, he will keep us informed of his journey."
