Artist statement

My designs explore various different subject matters which inspire me because even if they seem simple, I still find them cool. These designs are meant to be printed on t-shirts, as I strive to create the kind of graphic quality you would see on such media in my own work. As an artist one of my biggest struggles has always been creating work that I can genuinely feel proud of, but these pieces allowed me enough creative freedom to forget about that and simply create what I wanted to create.

I thought it was interesting that as I explored these subjects, I found myself reminiscent of my childhood, as all of the subjects on this shirt are things I found cool as a child, and as I recreated them for my shirt designs, I found that I still do to this day. Some say that clothes are a form of personal expression, and I suppose I took that literally with this project.
