2026-27 performance season

Oct. 29-Nov. 1, 2026: The Dining Room

Oct. 29-Nov. 1, 2026, Honkamp Myhre Black Box Theatre

The Augustana College Department of Theatre and Film presents "The Dining Room," directed by Christian Haywood '27.

A.R. Gurney’s "The Dining Room" follows a collection of interrelated stories of American families spanning eight decades, taking place in different dining rooms. Some stories are funny, some touching, and some rueful. The cast will change characters between scenes, ranging from kids to grandparents, with 56 characters being split among six performers. Hopefully, by the end you see yourself in a few of the characters. This theatre experience will bring out remarkable range, witty humor, and profuse humanity.

All performances are in the Honkamp Myhre Blackbox. Tickets are $10; or $7 for senior citizens; free for Augustana students; $5 for faculty and staff, students and children.

The Augustana College Department of Theatre and Film presents "The Wager," directed by DJ Roberts '27.

Ward, a Phys-Ed major who scores as often off as on the field, is roommates with Leeds, a brainy, tart-tongued graduate student who can only win with wit. Right next door lives another student Honor, the young wife of their Professor, Ron. When Ward boasts that he can seduce Honor, Leeds raises the stakes by betting if Ward is successful, Ron will kill him within 48-hours. Ward accepts the wager. Laughter, gunplay and some philosophical musings about love and madness ensue as all four characters find themselves increasingly ensnared in the web of lies they spin.

All performances are in the Honkamp Myhre Blackbox. Tickets are $10; or $7 for senior citizens; free for Augustana students; $5 for faculty and staff, students and children.
