Business scores a dream team
In her January term business class, Dr. Amanda Baugous assigned a virtual competitive simulation in which teams of students "run" their own business.
It's a common simulation in graduate programs and top business schools worldwide.
"All of my teams did well this term, but one team did so well that they scored in the top 10% of all teams worldwide who've ever completed the simulation," said Dr. Baugous, professor of business management. "That’s tens of thousands of other teams." → more
Announcements
• The Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies $500 scholarship is for first-year students who have taken at least one WGSS course this academic year, or who have declared a WGSS major or minor, or intend to do so. Submission deadline is March 13.
• Student Counseling is providing peer-led support groups for students who identify as LGBTQIA+. The group will meet every Thursday in the You Belong Here Lounge (4th floor Gerber Center) from noon-1 p.m.
• The Audre Lorde Prize is given annually to recognize excellence in scholarship in women, gender and sexuality studies. The deadline is March 13. This year students may submit creative expressions of various kinds, as well as writing.

✔ Plan to attend the Quad Cities College Career Fair next Tuesday at the Vibrant Arena in Moline. Register through Handshake. Bus transportation is provided, leaving from the Gerber Center starting at 12:45 p.m.
👍 Students Maddie Miller and Jessica Cotturone, and Michelle Crouch and Bin Peng, assistant professors of voice, drew a capacity crowd to the Bettendorf Library last week for the first of five Opera "101" programs.

Swimming to victory!
The Vikings men's swimming and diving team claimed its first CCIW title in 41 years on Saturday as they capped off a four-day meet with a first-place finish. The women's team was second at the championships, making it back-to-back seasons finishing in the top two.
