COVID-19 testing opportunity Nov. 20
Nov. 13, 2020
Campus community,
As our in-person time together this fall begins to wind down, on behalf of the President's Cabinet and the Augustana Strong Task Force, I wanted to share news of a COVID-19 testing opportunity for all community members.
As recent communications have indicated, such as Provost Hilton-Morrow's email communication last night and the Alert Level Change notice from Nov. 6, we want all of our community members to transition away from campus in the coming days in a COVID responsible way. We need to remain compliant with masking, group gatherings, washing our hands, and physically distancing. But in addition to Augustana's ongoing response measures, a new opportunity will be available next Friday, Nov. 20. Anyone interested in being tested for COVID-19 will be able to do so. Testing will occur in the PepsiCo Center here on campus at no charge to the community member.
Those tested will learn of their results on Monday or Tuesday during the week of Nov. 23.
In order to be tested next Friday, you must register by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16. This is a hard deadline which allows adequate time for scheduling testing appointments and entering participant information. To register for this opportunity, please complete the link below by 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
(Registration has closed.)
When thinking of participating in this testing opportunity, please consider the following:
→ COVID testing is a snapshot in time. A negative test administered one day does not mean you have not contracted the virus between the test and the results.
→ Participants should consider eliminating all close contacts from the test date through test results and activities should be minimized. Examples would include ceasing socializing in residence halls, utilizing Grab and Go features rather than in-person dining, and refraining from any social activities over the weekend.
Further details regarding guidance and expectations for participants will be shared next week. That guidance will assist participants in making decisions between test date and results that assists in leaving campus in a COVID-responsible way.
Have a great weekend and let's finish out these next couple of weeks leading into Thanksgiving strong - Augustana Strong!
