WVIK's Pearce elevated to national role with NPR

Jay Pearce, CEO and general manager of WVIK, Quad Cities NPR, has been named to the board of directors of National Public Radio. Pearce will travel to Washington, D.C., for orientation in September, then will begin his three-year-term in November.

WVIK takes home 15 awards for reporting

WVIK 90.3 FM, Quad Cities NPR, won 15 awards in state news contests last weekend. The WVIK newsroom competed in contests held by the Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters Association and the Iowa Broadcast News Association.

Members of the WVIK News team won nine awards in Illinois and Iowa news competitions in 2014—the most of any radio news department in the Quad Cities.
