Student recital: John Flannery, piano
Senior John Flannery, a music performance-piano, music composition and music education major from Washington, Iowa, will perform a piano recital.
Virtual presentation: 'Secret Heroes: How Immigrants and Refugees Helped Win WWII'
Camp Ritchie is located in Maryland. During WWII it served as a secret training facility. Its 9,000 soldiers (the "Ritchie Boys") were refugees from German-speaking countries, recruited because of their knowledge of German language and culture.
River Readings: Sarah Kain Gutowski
The 2024 River Readings will welcome Sarah Kain Gutowski on April 18, from 5-6 p.m. The reading will begin at 5 p.m. in The Forum in Old Main. The event is free and open to the public.

Augie Acres Planting Day (new date)
Join the Augustana Local Agriculture Society at Augie Acres for a planting party! The group will do spring planting in the main plot and raised beds and will continue landscaping the garden. No experience is required to help.

Celebration of Learning 2024
The annual Celebration of Learning shares and showcases original scholarship and creative work by students, faculty and staff throughout the day. This year's celebration on May 8 includes poster presentations, interactive sessions, panel presentations and special events.
Planetarium and geology museum open house
Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium and Fryxell Geology Museum will be open to the public for an evening of stargazing and space shows. The planetarium, located at 820 38th Street, Rock Island, will be open from 8:30 p.m.
Roys Lecture: Chef Joseph Yoon, Edible Insect Ambassador
Chef Joseph Yoon, world-renowned chef and thought leader in entomophagy, or eating insects, will share the science of insects with the sustainability and health aspects of eating insects.
Guest lecture: 'The Crisis on the U.S. Southwestern Border'
Dr. Rene Rocha, political scientist from the University of Iowa, is a leading scholar of immigration politics and policy.
