To research mountain formation, Jenny Arkle travels to remote places. Her students can use the thermochronology lab on campus and also travel off campus—way off campus. 

Mass and vigil for France

A special Mass will offered for the Catholic church in France. The Votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be offered since the Notre Dame Cathedral was named after her.

Dr. Elizabeth Ferris will give this year's Schalk Lecture in Political Science. Her topic, " A World on the Move," will be about issues of refugees and migrants.

Dr. Harold Kasimow, Grinnell College emeritus professor of religious studies, will speak at the annual Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Scandinavian Movie Night: "Border"

"Border" is a 2018 Swedish fantasy film that's based on the short story of the same name by Ajvide Lindqvist from his anthology "Let the Old Dreams Die."
