Old Book Petting Zoo

The Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center invites the campus to an Old Book Petting Zoo. Guests can hold a book from the 1800s, discover books from the Swenson Center's collections and hear presentations by Scandinavian studies students.

At 4:30 p.m., Kathryn Kuntz of the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center at the Davenport Public Library will talk about the history of the book . She will explore iterations of what was classified as a book, and show examples of books from the Quad Cities area and Eastern Iowa libraries, as well as libraries across the world.
