2013 grad named top tech educator in Illinois
The Illinois Digital Educators Alliance has named Alex Mayszak '13 the Tech Leader Educator of the Year. The state award honors teachers making outstanding contributions to integrating technology in their school district.
Mayszak is the director of digital learning and innovation for East Moline School District 37 in East Moline, Ill. His role focuses on districtwide technology integration and professional learning opportunities for staff — and on making sure students are good digital citizens, have future-ready skills and can successfully navigate a digital world.
"Computer literacy skills, artificial intelligence skills, media skills … my favorite part is watching that light bulb flick on," Mayszak told WQAD8.
Mayszak, a history education major at Augustana, earned his Master of Science in Educational Leadership with Principal Endorsement from Western Illinois University.
