Important benefit information for 2025

As we approach the new year, the office of Human Resources would like to share important resources and benefit reminders that you may need for 2025.

Here's what you need to know:

Medical insurance through UMR

  • If you did not make any changes to your benefit plan, you will not receive a new card and will continue to use your UMR card in 2025. If you need a replacement card you can request one through UMR.
  • If you made changes to your plan selection (switched from PPO to HDHP or vice versa) you will receive a new card in the mail in early January. If you need a temporary card prior to receiving your card, you can log into UMR and print a temporary card.
  • If you are new to UMR, you will receive a new card in early January. Find a list of in-network providers here. You may begin to access your online UMR account after Jan. 1. See instructions on how to access the portal and register.

Upcoming changes with prescriptions transitioning to Sharx

  • If you currently take a prescription that retails over $350 per month, you should have received a notification from Sharx requesting you to onboard. Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, all high cost and specialty prescriptions will be processed through Sharx. If you or anyone in your household that is covered under our medical plan takes a high cost or specialty medication, you are required to complete onboarding through Sharx in order to process those prescriptions. Our office would highly encourage you to complete that process sooner rather than later so that there are no delays in receiving your medications. You can contact Sharx directly to enroll by calling 314-451-3555.
  • If you do not take a high cost or specialty medication, there won't be any changes as your prescriptions will continue to be processed through MedOne.

Retirement contributions

  • If you've made any changes to your contributions or did not opt out of auto-escalation for the new year, your new contributions will be reflected on your first paycheck in January. If you would like to make changes to your 2025 elections you can complete a new election form by contacting the Human Resources office.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

  • If you enrolled in our Flexible Spending Account through EBC, your elected amount will be available starting Jan. 1, 2025. See helpful information on setting up your account and downloading the mobile app. Please remember to submit eligible expenses for reimbursement promptly. If you would like to request a debit card, you will need to reach out to EBC directly to do so. They can be reached at 800-346-2126, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Central Time.
  • If you do not have a Health Savings Account with Quad City Bank & Trust and elected to contribute to an HSA in 2025, you should have received an email from our office requesting a completed HSA application. If you did not receive an email and need to open an account, please reach out to Cristina Rios for an application. Please keep in mind that you can make changes to your HSA contributions at any time throughout the year.

Vision coverage through MetLife:

  • A reminder that we have transitioned away from the Superior Network and will join the VSP Network with MetLife beginning Jan. 1, 2025. Find participating vision providers in your area on the MetLife website.
  • Your vision provider should be able to check your coverage by using your Social Security number and verifying your identity with a photo ID. If you prefer a vision card, you can stop by the HR office to pick one up or log into MetLife to print one out. Registration instructions for MetLife are available here. This is a different vision card from any card you may have had in 2024, so please note you will need to print or pick up a new card for 2025.

Dental coverage through MetLife:

  • A reminder that we have raised the maximum benefit coverage from $1,000 to $1,250 beginning Jan. 1, 2025. Find dental providers in your area on the MetLife website.
  • Your dental provider should be able to check your coverage by using your Social Security number and verifying your identity with a photo ID. If you prefer a dental card, you can stop by the HR office to pick one up or log into Metlife to print one out. Registration instructions for MetLife are available here. If you currently have a MetLife dental card from 2024, you can continue to use that card -- there is no change to the card in 2025.

We're here to support you in making the most of your benefits for a healthy, successful year ahead. If you have any questions please reach out to the Office of Human Resources. Thank you.
