Research survey for first-year students

Researchers in the psychology department are interested in understanding how several factors affect the way first-year students can feel confident in declaring a major.

The researchers are offering the following for eligible first-year students who take the survey:

• If you are in PSYC-100, you can earn 1 SONA credit.
• You can be entered to win one of 50 electronic $10 VISA gift cards.

Requirements for participating:

1. You must be a first-year student.
2. You cannot be a transfer student.
3. You cannot be a one-year exchange student.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take this survey if I haven't declared a major yet?

Having a declared major is preferred, but students without a major can still earn credit/enter the raffle.

I want the SONA credit–should I take this survey on SONA?

Yes, and please take the survey from the SONA website!

When will the gift card winners be announced?

Data will be collected until spring break, so winners will receive an email with their gift card shortly after break.

If I take this survey before I declare a major and then declare a major later on, can I retake it?

No, you cannot. You can only take the survey one time. If you are still on the fence about majors, take your time to think. You have until spring break (March 22) to participate!
