Wi-Fi

Augustana offers guest WiFi to renters: ACGuests

• This network is for guests of Augustana College.
• This network is an open system with internet access only, with no access to our internal network resources.
• Once connected to ACGuests, a web browser will open and ask users to accept our agreement.
• Users will then have 1 day of internet access. The system will require them to confirm every 24 hours for continued internet access.

Mail

Camps can pick up mail in the Sorensen Hall mailing room, located in the basement of Sorensen, M-F 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. To mail a letter, please drop it off in any of the blue USPS mail boxes on campus. You can also purchase stamps at the mailing center in Sorensen Hall if needed.

Trash and recycling

Camps are responsible for placing trash in the nearest dumpster. Additional cleanup charges may apply if spaces are not left clean and trash is not removed as directed.

Parking

Augustana does not charge summer group participants for parking. Guests are reminded to park only in legal and non-restricted parking spaces.

Linens

We do not offer linens. Please plan to bring a pillow, pillow case, sheets, blanket or comforter, towels, and washcloths for your stay.

Laundry facilities

Using laundry services

• Augustana uses an app-based system for laundry machines in the residence halls.
• Laundry costs $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to dry. Renters will need to download the Family Pride Pay app to pay for laundry on campus.

Family Pride Pay mobile app instructions

• Download the Family Pride Pay app from the App Store or Google Play and create an account.
• When you enter the laundry room and open the app, your phone will “find” the machines and show what is available or busy.
• Choose your machine by scanning the QR code sticker via the app.
• Confirm the vend price, load your clothes and detergent then press the blinking start button on the machine.

Printer access

Printer access at Augustana is by use of an access card. Therefore, we cannot give individual access to participants. We can provide one access card to the renter group, but the costs (5 cents per copy) would be assessed by the camp rather than individual participants.

Mini fridges

A small number of mini fridges are available for rental during the summer. Please request with the Conference Services office before your stay. If you have not, please contact the Summer Conference Assistant on-call: 309-716-1242.

Fitness center

Use of Augustana’s PepsiCo Center is subject to availability. The PepsiCo Center is used extensively over the summer for athletic camps, and as such may not be available for use. Augustana’s campus does have a sand volleyball court and outdoor basketball courts that can be used (participants need to provide their own balls), as well as a beautiful, wooded 115 acre campus that is perfect for walking or running.

Use of library

Books may not be checked out of the library by camps during the summer.

Bookstore

The Augustana College Bookstore in Brunner Theatre Center will be open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You can purchase Augustana College apparel, mugs, hats, flags, and more Augie gear here.

Health center

The College’s health clinic is closed during the summer. Nearby urgent care and hospital options are available in Rock Island and Moline. In an emergency, call 911.

Emergency instructions

Emergency instructions are posted on the back of every student room door. Please review them when you arrive. These include:

• Evacuate for fire alarms
• Shelter for severe weather
• Lock down for an active threat

In any emergency, follow instructions from Augustana Police and Public Safety, Residence Life staff or your camp/conference leader. For immediate safety concerns, call Public Safety at 309-794-7711. Call 911 for an imminent threat, danger or medical emergency.
