IES Internships in Dublin, Ireland

Overview

Full-time internships in the Irish capital. Students take a 3-credit professional development seminar and engage in full-time internships in their major as they explore the rich culture of Ireland.

Details

Requirements: Junior status and 2.50 GPA. Program cap is 8 students per year.

Fields of Study: All majors may find internship placements with this program.

Budget and fees

Augustana fees: Augustana tuition and housing fees apply.

Other expenses: Airfare, meals, visa fees and discretionary spending. Estimated out of pocket costs: $4,000 or $2,000 more than a semester on campus.

Financial aid: All financial aid applies as if on campus. Augie Choice eligible for juniors and seniors

Courses

This is a full-time internship program. Students will earn 8-12 credits of INTR and may choose to work with their major department to count 4 credits directly towards the major department rather than CORE internship credit.

In addition to the INTR credits, students will be enrolled in a 3-credit course from IES Abroad with a focus on professional development. This will transfer as an ISS Seminar.

Housing

Students stay in the Binary Hub private student residence in the center of Dublin. Each student will have a single room with private bath, in an apartment with 4-6 students, with shared kitchen and living space. Includes Wi-Fi, laundry facilities and other amenities.

Program excursions include travel to Northern Ireland, Causey Farm, Howth and the Gaelic Games
