Write a personal statement for post-grad service or graduate/professional school; have it reviewed by your career coach (4 pts)

• Review the Personal Statement Guide on Handshake 

• To create an outline, view the attachment in the resource and complete the Personal Statement Activity

• Schedule an appointment with a faculty tutor in the Reading/Writing Center for additional help and brainstorming assistance. Send an email to readingwritingcenter@augustana.edu to get started

• Use Handshake to schedule a personal statement appointment with a career coach

After you complete your personal statement appointment CORE will award your Viking Score points in the database. You can also email your personal statement rough or final draft to your career coach for points.

Learning outcome: Construct an organized and meaningful statement that engages the audience, reflects your reasons for pursuing a certain career path and provides examples of your experience.
