Why did you choose Augustana?

When I visited Augustana, I really liked the sense of community I felt here.

Are you where you thought you'd be four years ago?

Before I came to Augustana, I knew the areas of study that I was interested in, but originally I thought I would have to choose and focus on just one area. I did not know four years ago that I would be able to graduate with a degree in psychology and business, as well as a minor in creative writing.

Who helped you get to where you are now?

I received a lot of help from my professors and advisors. They were really great about assisting me with answers to my questions or clearing up any confusion that I had regarding my classes or my future plans. Family and friends also helped get me where I am just through their support.

A peak experience?

My study abroad experience in Italy. It was a lifelong dream of mine to visit Italy. I am glad I got the chance to do it.

What did you learn about yourself in these past four years that surprised you?

I learned that even the small things that I do can make a big difference and mean so much. When I have volunteered for service events, I was always surprised how much the simple things like serving food or helping with cleaning meant to people.

How did you use your Augie Choice?

I used my Augie Choice for my study abroad trip to Italy.

What will you miss the most?

I will miss a lot about Augustana, but I’ll miss the people I met here the most.

Advice for the Class of 2019?

Enjoy the journey. Take advantage of all the opportunities that are offered to you over the next four years. With the courses, study abroad and service events, there are a lot of opportunities to experience something new and exciting.
