The Student Government Association will sponsor a campus cleanup. There will be food, drinks, music, and even a special something for those who collect the most trash.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to a climate action meeting. There will be updates on the green fund and a chance to workshop ideas.

Augustana Oratorio Society open rehearsal
Area singers are invited to join the Augustana Oratorio Society for March 2020 performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem, in a collaboration with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra.
Jon Hurty, director of choral activities at Augustana College, invites singers with choral experience to join the Society’s chorus. The first rehearsal is 7-8:30 tonight.
Rehearsals are most Monday nights in October and November, and resume in early 2020. Singers must attend rehearsals this fall and in the spring prior to the performances in March.

Illinois Classical Conference annual meeting
The Illinois Classical Conference will hold its 81st annual meeting at Augustana College today and Sunday. Most programs and sessions are in Old Main, from 8 a.m. today through 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
The keynote speaker will be John Gruber-Miller, professor of languages at Cornell College.

Little Lesson on Microagressions
Microaggressions are daily indignities that happen in conversation and come from intentional of unintentional bias. At the core, they're based on stereotypes. Dr. Monica Smith teaches us how to recognize microaggressions and how to draw attention to them in a non-confrontational way to create access and reduce stereotypes.
Midwest Immigration
This presentation by Dr. Chris Strunk will examine the new geography of immigrant and refugee settlement in the rural Midwest in the context of the region’s long history of global connections.
Dr. Strunk is an associate professor of geography at Augustana College.
