The studio production "Flemming: An American Thriller" will run Oct. 31- Nov. 3.

Bored by his privileged, but mundane life, Henry Flemming sells his lucrative brokerage firm to become a detective.
On his very first case, and to the horror of his wife and his two crazy neighbors, the Flemming living room begins to fill up with dead bodies. Even though Henry keeps showing up at home every day more disheveled and beaten up, he couldn't be happier. Henry is convinced he's found his life's work and Westport, Connecticut is safer for it.
The play is a spoof of the film noir thrillers from the 1940s and 50s. (Samuel French Theatricals)

Washinton D.C. internship discussion
Ike Brannon will speak on D.C. internships for this spring and next fall. Many opportunities are open for political science, economics, and communications majors, but all majors are welcome.
Ike Brannon is president of consulting firm Capital Policy Analytics and a senior fellow at the Jack Kemp Foundation. He is a graduate of Augustana College and Indiana University.

Augustana alumna, Melinda Pavek, will give a special lecture on the relationship between the U.S. and Japan. All are welcome to attend.
She is a '92 political science, economics, and Asian studies alumna and the Director for Science, Innovation and Development, Economic and Scientific Affairs for the U.S. Embassy of Tokyo.
Greek council blood drive
The Greek Council would like to encourage the Augustana community to sign up to work Brew tables or donate blood for their blood drive. Students can sign up by visiting the Brew tables between 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. or by sending an email to Amy Green or Damien Pilotto.
Adsorption of Volatile Organic Compounds to Amorphous Silica
Dr. Amanda Wilmsmeyer will describe her research with Augustana students in a talk, "Adsorption of Volatile Organic Compounds to Amorphous Silica."
Dr. Wilmsmeyer is an assistant professor of chemistry.
Hispanic Heritage talk
The Multicultural Programming Board will hold its first "Ted Talk" of the year on Hispanic Heritage Month.
Leticia Martinez and senior Rosalia Flores will speak. There will be empanadas and a giveaway.
