Historical walking tour
Faculty and staff are invited to join Kai Swanson, Special Assistant to the President, on 90 minute historic walk of Augustana's campus. The walking tour will depart outside of Brunner Theatre near the construction site.
Interested participants should send an email to kaiswanson@augustana.edu and dress for the weather with comfortable walking shoes.
Jurakán: Nation in Resistance
Please join documentary filmmakers Rosa Emmanuellie and Gonzalo Manzzinie for a screening and discussion of their film, "Jurakán: Nation in Resistance".
"Jurakán" establishes a connective thread between Puerto Rico's colonial past and its current political and economic status. It also covers both the social and political turmoil that Puerto Rico is now facing, as well as Puerto Ricans' struggles for dignity, meaning, and social and economic security in the aftermath of two devastating hurricanes in 2017. The film brings together 41 Puerto Ricans of different backgrounds to tell this story of hardship and resilience. Rosa and Gonzalo, the filmmakers, are very excited to bring this film to campus. Before the film screening, Latinx Unidos will be hosting a dinner at Casa Latina to welcome Rosa and Gonzalo to Augustana College. All students are invited to the dinner. The dinner will be a great opportunity to chat with the filmmakers and ask questions in person.

Augustana in Australia reunion
Augustana alumni and students who have interned in Australia are all invited to a reunion at the Chicago Linkedin office. The event is free, but previous interns interested in attending should RSVP. Refreshments will be provided, including Tim-Tams, vegemite, and more.
Past interns are also encouraged to donate towards funding a scholarship for a 2020 Australian internship recipient.
The Hunting Ground
Students enrolled in WGST201: Women and Change will be hosting a viewing of the film The Hunting Ground, which investigates the problem of and legal solutions to the problem of sexual violence on college campuses. The event is to bring awareness and provide information about this problem in advance of Take Back the Night, which will be held on April 28.
Warning: The movie contains explicit descriptions of sexual assault. For anyone who may need support before, during, and after the movie, a survivor advocate will be available to assist anyone who may need it.
K-Pop Club meeting
Students are invited to the first K-Pop Club meeting. All are welcome to participate in fun activities and free pizza will be provided.
Incarceration reform: "Resisting Incarceration Through Education"
Students are invited to a discussion about incarceration reform with Dr. Michelle Clifton-Soderstrom. Dr. Clifton-Soderstrom will be speaking about her work teaching at Stateville Correctional Facility outside of Chicago, where she is Professor of Theology and Ethics at North Park Theological Seminary.
