It’s a virtual spring at Augustana College
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Augustana community has been working quickly to set students up for success from a distance.
A passion for the stars, a mission for Augustana
In 1969, a Saturn V rocket thrust Apollo 11 towards the moon. That same year, Augustana College threw open the doors to its new John Deere Planetarium and Carl Gamble Observatory. Both successfully completed the mission.
Alphonse Hvalgren and Hulda Gustafson papers, 1879-2012
Personal papers and correspondence of Alphonse Hvalgren and Hulda Gustafson Hvalgren, both born in Sweden and immigrated to Prophetstown, Illinois. The papers contain a variety of original documents such as passports, receipts from steamships, Declaration of Intention, World War I draft cards, and correspondence, some of which were opened by the mail censor during World War I. Also includes information on Emanuel Hvalgren (1827-1908), Alphonse Hvalgren’s maternal grandfather, who was a Swedish philosopher and schoolteacher.

All degree-seeking students registered at Augustana at least half-time (4 credits) may apply to work on campus. They may work up to 10 hours a week.
