Gerbers recognized for philanthropic support
Augustana College today named its Center for Student Life in honor of Murry and Cindy Gerber of Pittsburgh. The building will be called The Gerber Center in honor of the Gerbers' philanthropic support of the college. They have donated $9.8 million to Augustana, placing them at the top of the list of individuals who have made substantial gifts to the college.

Culture houses help develop diverse social networks
With the number of students of color on campus more than doubling in the past seven years, a reflection of even broader changes in the nation's demographics, Augustana College is redoubling its efforts to help students build more diverse social networks as a key to their future success.
John E. Nelson poetry, 1952
Collection of bound typewritten poems titled “Verses” written by John E. Nelson of Minnesota and North Dakota. The poems were all originally published in various Swedish-American newspapers around the turn of the century (from about 1897 to 1907). Collection includes introduction of autobiographical information written in 1952.
