Abstract:    
A.J.C. Anderson emigrated to Galva, Illinois from Södra Vi Parish, Kalmar län (Småland), Sweden, in the summer of 1870 at the age of 19. He farmed in Essex, Iowa from 1871 to 1920. He died in June 1937. Collection consists of three photocopies of letters to A.J.C. Anderson from family.

Gift of Virgil A. Anderson of Lincoln, Nebraska in 1982. 

Location of Originals:    
Originals belonged to Mrs. Paul Dykes, Route 4, Box 18, Blountville, TN 37617 as of 1982. Mrs. Dykes is the niece of the donor.

CONTENT AND STRUCTURE

Administrative/Biographical History:    
A.J.C. Anderson came to Galva, Illinois from Södra Vi Parish, Kalmar län (Småland), Sweden, in the summer of 1870 at the age of 19. The following winter he bought land near Essex, Iowa and farmed there until 1920 when he retired to Essex. He died there in June 1937.

Scope and Content:    
Collection consists of three photocopies of letters to A.J.C. Anderson.
