Science on GMOs is 'missing'

The differences of opinion on genetically modified organisms were on display at a panel discussion that was a part of PlantBot Genetics: The Moth Project, an art exhibit encouraging awareness of ecology.

Dr. Angie Carter, assistant professor of sociology at Augustana, said the science is missing.

"In the absence of science, we are assuming safety," she said. "Or, we are relying on science that is being put out by the companies who are manufacturing the products themselves."
