Viking Connections: Alex Odenkirk
Alex Odenkirk is a senior talent director at Robert Half in Seattle. His role is primarily sales and account management, and he works to help accounting and finance professionals find contract, consulting and permanent roles in the Seattle area.
"I had a fantastic time at Augustana, and would love the opportunity to give back to that community. It's always a scary prospect stepping out into the world after graduation. Being a part of our alumni network to help alleviate that fear would be a wonderful thing. I don't know how I missed the existence of this program for 8 years, but better late than never!
As for what I can provide, I'm fortunate to have about 5.5 years of experience with reviewing resumes and assisting in job hunts. My focus is in finance, but I've been able to help a few Augie alum in the tech, legal, and administrative fields over the years. I also was a financial analyst for 18 months, and have quite a bit of knowledge about that career path and in-demand technical skills in the accounting/finance spaces. I'd be happy to share whatever tricks of the trade I've picked up with any current or former Augustana students."
