Vigil for peace tonight
Pastor Melinda Pupillo will lead a candlelight vigil for peace at 6:30 tonight at the Viking Plaza. Everyone is welcome to this brief gathering.
Special guest today: Our woman in Congress, U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos, did a job shadow today at the Fryxell Geology Museum. She has made more than 100 Cheri on Shift visits to try out different jobs, like pouring steel and changing bulbs in streetlights. Here she is with Dr. Mike Wolf and students, learning what they do in the lab.

A historic snowstorm, a massive political protest, and a sensitive interview with a shopkeeper: Augustana junior Joe McCoy is using a semester in Greece toward his goal of of becoming a national TV reporter.
Choosing a major? Attend an open house
First-year students now are eligible to declare a major and begin working with a faculty advisor in their major departments. You have until the end of your sophomore year (or when you have 60 credits) to declare.
You're encouraged to explore your intended major(s) by attending a departmental open house. These are underway and continue into March.
This year's event will be in person.
Students from all disciplines are invited to submit proposals for presentations and posters. The submission deadline is 11:55 p.m. April 1. → Get the details

The women's water polo team — playing in its first season — earned its first win at the Macalester Invite last weekend.
Ben Payne '17 had a national spot reporting for NPR on the Ahmaud Arbery trial in Georgia. And Christian Elliott '20, has piece in the National Geographic on "the fish that ate Japan."
They ARE No. 1: The Augustana Vikings women's swimming and diving team won its first CCIW title in 25 years last week. The title is their seventh in program history. "This was a complete team victory," said head coach Dan Lloyd. "Every member of our team stepped up and gave everything they had this weekend. The true strength of our program showed and that is the relationships. Standing beside one another throughout this journey is what makes us more than just a team. We are a family." Lloyd was named women's swimming CCIW Coach of the Year.
