The Augustana Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. James Lambrecht, will tour the Midwest in March.
The tour kicks off on March 20 in Oregon, Ill., and includes performances in Chicago and Greenfield, Wis. A final performance will be held at Augustana’s Centennial Hall on April 11. All concerts are free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be accepted.
The Augustana Symphonic Band, which performs music of the highest artistic quality written for the wind band, was established in 1874. Recently, the ensemble celebrated its 150th anniversary with a specially commissioned piece by composer Kevin Walczyk. The ensemble tours annually, with its most recent tours being to the east coast and Japan.

Ten Years of Becoming: A Panel Conversation
As Augustana marks ten years since the creation of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, we invite you to join a campus conversation that reflects on how our institution has grown and how we continue to evolve to support student learning, connection and success.
Ten Years of Becoming is not a moment of arrival. It is an opportunity to pause, reflect and look ahead. Over the past decade, Augustana’s student body, programs and learning environment have changed in meaningful ways.
This conversation will explore how culture and connection shape student experience today, and how those commitments continue to be carried forward in alignment with our mission and Lutheran values. Food and drinks will be served at the event.

- Kiki Kosnick, Associate Professor of French; Chair of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
- Steve Wehling, Civil Rights Director and Title IX Coordinator, will moderate the conversation, helping guide questions and ensuring space for thoughtful dialogue.
Bringing together institutional leadership, faculty voices and student-facing perspectives, the panel will reflect on Augustana’s journey over the past ten years and consider how culture, connection and student success remain central to learning and formation today.
This conversation is part of the broader Ten Years of Becoming initiative, which centers listening, reflection and shared responsibility as we think together about the future of culture and connection at Augustana. Time will be reserved for audience questions and dialogue.

From the gridiron to a national research spotlight
Augustana’s Zion Williams ’26 was among a select group of undergraduate researchers chosen to present at ABRCMS (Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists). Williams earned his spot at the national conference following two summers of research at Johns Hopkins University.
CELTS event: Work-in-progress faculty research
This is a second opportunity to hear about possible research collaboration. Whether you have a polished proposal or just a five-minute sketch of an idea, this event is a space to share your work and find your next research partner. Born from faculty desire for more connection, this session is dedicated to breaking down silos and finding common ground for collaboration.

While each session features a specific theme — ranging from celebrating undergraduate research mentors to "speed dating" for new research ideas — the focus remains on breaking down academic silos rather than formal presentations. These gatherings, held at the Wilson Center, aim to spark cross-disciplinary collaborations and strengthen the bonds between colleagues as friends and mentors.
