Cultural market excursion
Unleash your inner food explorer! Every two weeks, the Office of International Student and Scholar Services will provide transportation to several local cultural food markets, where students can discover global flavors and make an impact.
On the Nov. 15 trip, the group will visit World Market, Jasper Asian and African, Khai Market and Namaste.
Transportation will leave the college at 5 p.m. and return around 7 p.m.

Augie First Gen Gems: Dropping Gems
National First Gen Day is Wednesday, Nov. 8th. Augustana's first-generation students are invited to a panel of faculty and staff who were also first-generation students, who will share their stories and advice from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in The Brew.
There will also be a celebration between 12-4 p.m. in the You Belong Here lounge with activities, treats, button-making, giveaways and more.

An Evening with Dilruba Z. Ara
In the tapestry of contemporary literature, Dilruba Z. Ara emerges as an author whose multilingual mastery and creative versatility redefine the boundaries of artistic expression. Her novels, stories, translated work and poetry serve as touchstones for scholars worldwide while her visual art adds a multifaceted view into the depths of her creative soul. Raised on Greek mythology and international fairy tales, Ara's literary journey began at age eight. Now, she writes in three languages, with her works published worldwide. Currently residing in Sweden, Ara imparts her expertise in both Swedish and English. Through her writings and interactions, Dilruba Z. Ara transcends linguistic and cultural barriers, leaving an indelible mark on the global literary landscape.

Diwali
The Global Engagement Team (GET) presents its third celebration of Diwali at Augustana College.
Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and other South Asian countries.
The event will include Indian food, performances, raffles, rangoli and sparklers.
Students are invited to come and learn about this festival and celebrate with friends.
Augustana College Department of Theatre Arts presents ‘Nine’
“Nine” will premier Nov. 16-19 at Augustana College, directed by Shelley Cooper, associate professor of theatre arts.
