Choir auditions for the 2023-2024 school year will be held this Tuesday and Thursday.
Super Smash Bros. tournament
The annual Super Smash Bros. video game tournament coordinated by Iota Chi Epsilon (IXE) will take place from 12-3 p.m. in the Gävle rooms. The winner will receive a $50 VISA gift card. All proceeds will be donated to Project Renewal, a nonprofit organization based in Davenport, Iowa, that provides services and support for underprivileged children and families.
Augustana’s Dr. Ann Perreau awarded NIH grant for hyperacusis study
The $316,276 grant awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services’ National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders will fund the three-year project. Students in Augustana's communication sciences and disorders department will serve as researchers, develop counseling materials, provide sound therapy, as well as collect and analyze data.

Jimmy Vercoe '25 was this year's grand prize winner. The contest was open to all Augustana students who went on a study abroad trip or term between summer 2022 and spring break 2023.

Guest speaker: Dr. Tim Tharp
Dr. Tim Tharp, Associate Professor of Physics and Arts and Sciences Dean’s Sustainability Fellow at Marquette University, will present "Responding to climate change through science, advocacy, and action."
Topic description: The global challenge of our time, to mitigate climate change by ending our addiction to fossil fuels, can feel simultaneously imperative and impossible. In this talk, Dr. Tharp will share his personal journey which has lead him to advocate for a specific emissions reduction project: the conversion of Marquette's campus to geothermal heating and cooling. This talk will cover both the specifics of why Marquette chose to pursue this specific project, as well as the more general (and often daunting) topic of how to take the first steps toward climate action.
